When I was 33 years old, I decided I would never wear shorts again because I hated my body so much. All of the women in my family were heavy, so I figured this was just what my body was going to look like. It was okay, I told myself - I would just cover myself up for the rest of my life! I had varicose veins from a decade of waitressing and two pregnancies. I am 5’3” and I weighed 207 pounds when my son was born via C-section in 2007. By the time he was four years old, I was constantly exhausted and clinically obese. My chest was so big that when I laid down to read to my children at night I felt like I was suffocating, but I just kept buying bigger clothes. Honestly, I felt terrible about myself. I had no energy, ever, because I was also smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. Every winter I would get a case of bronchitis that would leave me hacking and gagging for months. One cold day in February 2012, I made the decision to change my life. Thanks to perseverance in changing my habits - one bad habit at a time - I quit smoking, lost 50 pounds, and I have kept it off for over ten years! Now, thanks to my education and experience, I can help you change your life, too!!

The year after I lost my mom to diabetes and heart disease, I decided to go back to college to become a Healthy Lifestyle Coach at Arizona State University online. I graduated in 2017 with my Bachelor’s of Health Science degree. In 2019, I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

My deepest desire is to share what I’ve learned with other women. If you have daily habits that you know are harming your health, you can make the very important decision to change your life, too. Believe me…. if I can do it, anyone can! Imagine where you can be one year, two years, five years, or ten years from now. See yourself as the best version of yourself. Envision it.
